Welcome to the St. Marie News website! This is your opportunity to work together with us to make the Village of St. Marie, Montana, a better place for all of us to live.

This website is published by a group of Covenant Owners in the Village of St. Marie. Everyone who owns or leases property or units in St. Marie, Montana, is a Covenant Owner. So, if you fit this description, you are a Covenant Owner, too!

As a Covenant Owner in St. Marie, your property rights are protected by the “Protective Covenants of the Village of St. Marie,” a Document filed in 1988 with the Valley County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, on pages 11-22 of Document # M22236. Article X of this document provides for amendments at any time with a vote of 51% of the owners, one vote for each unit.

We are in the process of amending these Protective Covenants to keep up with the changes that have come to St. Marie since the various bankruptcies wreaked havoc on this village. We hope you will contribute to this effort by sending us your comments and suggestions on how to improve the proposed amended Protective Covenants.  These amended Covenants will better protect you in the future.

The menu at the top of this page will lead you to other parts of the website.  The proposed amended Protective Covenants can be found by clicking the words “Proposed Amendments” at the top of this page. If you want to see what the original Protective Covenants look like, click “1988 Protective Covenants.” More about the Covenant Owners can be found by clicking “About,” and News items by clicking “News” at the top of this page. We will keep adding more, so stay tuned!
